It's a beautiful day here on the island, with almost clear blue skies, temperatures into double figures and a light breeze making it feel quite warm in the sun.  I managed a quick trip up the coast to Laxey for some aerial shots around the harbour and beach area of Old Laxey.

We needed to go down into Douglas this afternoon, but I managed a few phone pictures walking back along the 'prom to the car.

Yesterday we had some nice sunny, if a bit breezy weather and I was determined to take some more pictures for the website. My first couple of ideas were thwarted by the numerous road works and closures that are currently plaguing the island (although it would be nice to see the roads with less potholes!) but I eventually settled on a visit to the 'hidden glen' of Glen Dhoo, just to the south of Ballaugh.  All of the pictures were taken with the 360 degree camera, which has a very wide angle lens (8mm equivalent). The first ones are 'single views' although some are just slices from a larger 360 degree picture, followed by a selection of the full 360 views.

We've been off island for the last week, only arriving back on Friday afternoon, hence no pictures for March so far.  Yesterday the weather was good though with sunshine and light winds in the afternoon, so I headed across to the west of the island with on of the drones, for some aerial pictures of Peel Castle.

After completing the flight at Peel Castle, I continued north along the coast road with a couple of locations in mind for further flights, in the end settling for the 'Devil's Elbow' where the road crosses the Glion Cam stream via a tight bend.  When the Manx Northern Railway was constructed and they had to cross the same valley, they did it by way of a huge embankment, with the stream going through it via a tunnel.  The bend has a bit of a reputation as an 'accident black spot', although it's not inherently dangerous, just that some drivers try to negotiate it at inappropriate speeds!
